What sets Hôtel de Crillon apart
The building
Ange-Jacques Gabriel designed the façade in 1758, as one of a pair framing the view up the rue Royale. It is among the finest pieces of eighteenth-century architecture in Paris, and the hotel's grand rooms keep their original panelling.
The Place de la Concorde
The front rooms look across the largest square in Paris to the obelisk, the Seine and the National Assembly. The Tuileries Garden begins at the corner, and the Orangerie is a few minutes away.
The 2017 renovation
The hotel closed for four years and reopened in July 2017 with fewer, larger rooms, a spa and a swimming pool it had never had, and two suites designed by Karl Lagerfeld.
Restaurants and bar
Three restaurants, a courtyard garden for the summer, and a bar, Les Ambassadeurs, in one of the gilded rooms of the old mansion.

From the court of Louis XV to the Paris Peace Conference
The building was put up in 1758 to the designs of Ange-Jacques Gabriel, the architect of Louis XV, as part of the new square that is now the Place de la Concorde. It was a private mansion, and took its name from the Crillon family, who owned it for more than a century.
History has passed through it more than once. On 6 February 1778 the first treaties between France and the newly founded United States were signed here. In 1919 it housed the American delegation to the Paris Peace Conference.
It became a hotel on 11 March 1909. It has been managed by Rosewood since it reopened in 2017, and received the official Palace distinction in 2018.
