Cookie Policy

The short version: this site sets no cookies of its own. One other company, GetYourGuide, sets its own, and only if you allow it.

Categories

  • Strictly necessary

    Always on

Required for the site to function and for your own choices to be remembered. Right now this is one entry in your browser's local storage holding your consent decision. It is not used to identify you and it is not sent anywhere.

  • Analytics

    Off until you allow it

Would measure which pages are read and how people move through the site, in aggregate. Nothing in this category is currently installed. Declining costs you nothing.

  • Marketing

    Off until you allow it

GetYourGuide's script and booking box. The script counts the visits and bookings that come from this site; the box shows GetYourGuide's price and dates on a ticket. Both are GetYourGuide's and set GetYourGuide's cookies. Declining costs you only the live price: the page still shows the price as last read, and the link to book.

How consent works here

Nothing outside the strictly necessary category loads before you choose. Refusing is one click, in the same place and with the same prominence as accepting, which is the standard the ePrivacy Directive and the EDPB's guidance require, and which most banners quietly fail.

There is no legitimate-interest tab, no pre-ticked box and no cookie wall. Closing the banner without choosing is treated as a refusal.

Changing your mind

Use the “Cookie preferences” link in the footer, on any page, at any time. Withdrawing consent is as easy as giving it.

You can also clear the site's data in your browser, which removes the stored preference entirely and makes the banner ask again.

A note on honesty

It would be easy to publish a long list of cookie names copied from a template. This site sets none of its own, so that list would be fiction. The cookies GetYourGuide sets once you allow it are GetYourGuide's to name, and its own cookie notice is where they are listed.

One thing is outside the bar's control: the map on the page of a place is Google's, and Google may set its own cookies when the map loads. Google's privacy policy covers them.
