What sets Cheval Blanc Paris apart
The river
The hotel faces the Seine at the Pont Neuf, the oldest bridge in Paris. Most rooms look over the water, and the top floors have a wide view up and down the river.
The building
Henri Sauvage designed the riverside block of La Samaritaine in 1928, one of the landmarks of Art Deco in Paris. It stood closed from 2005 and was restored over sixteen years. The interiors of the hotel are by Peter Marino.
The restaurants
Four of them: Plénitude, the gastronomic restaurant of the chef Arnaud Donckele, with some thirty seats. Le Tout-Paris, a brasserie on the top floor with a long terrace. Langosteria, Italian, and Hakuba, Japanese.
The pool and the Dior spa
A swimming pool thirty metres long, said to be the longest in any Paris hotel, with a wall of moving images of the river beside it, and a spa by Dior.

La Samaritaine, reopened
La Samaritaine was one of the great department stores of Paris, founded in 1870 beside the Pont Neuf. Its buildings, by Frantz Jourdain and then Henri Sauvage, are among the best of Art Nouveau and Art Deco in the city.
The store closed in 2005 for reasons of safety. Its owner, the group LVMH, rebuilt the whole block over sixteen years, at a cost reported at around 750 million euros, as shops, offices, housing and a hotel.
Cheval Blanc Paris opened in September 2021 in the Art Deco building on the river. It is the first city hotel of a small group better known for its resorts in the Alps and the Maldives. It received the Palace distinction in June 2026.
